Frequently Asked Questions About Mystical Fairies Parties
Q. I am inviting boys too, will they enjoy the party?
A. It depends on the age of the boys. Most parties for children under six years are mixed and boys have a great time joining in with all the activities here or at your own venue. Our entertainers are used to dealing with mixed groups and know how to make the parties "boy - friendly". If the boys are older than six they may not be so keen on parties here.
If you want a party for a boys birthday, we can offer lots of male characters, including Pirates, Peter Pan, Superheroes and Wizards.
Q. I don't live in London, can you do parties elsewhere?
A. Yes, fairies have wings and we can come and entertain your guests anywhere at any venue you choose. We have been to Wales, Dorset and the Midlands to name but a few. We do charge a small supplement for travel outside Greater London to cover the cost of transport for our entertainers.
Q. Do you only do parties at weekends?
A. No, fairies work every day and we can do a fabulous party for you on any day of the week.
Q.What exactly happens at one of your parties?
A. Our parties are tailored to your requirements, and the age and interests of your child so there is no set format. Most include favourites such as a disco, party games, stories, competitions, and balloon modelling or comedy magic but we can do anything that you wish - makeover parties, arts and craft parties and sleepovers are just a few of our other options.
Our entertainers are very experienced, friendly, enthusiastic and have hundreds of ideas of how to make the perfect party.They will have a consultation with you on the telephone a few days before your party to sure that the event is exactly what you want it to be. Parties usually last for two hours with a short break for you to serve your own food. We can arrange longer parties or all day events for you if you wish.
Q. Is food included?
A. No. Due to children's allergies and hygiene issues we cannot provide food for your party. We can put you in touch with childrens caterers, but pizza delivery services (or McDonalds) tend to be the most popular choices for children. We can arrange this for you if you are having your party at our venue - we also provide paper tableware for use here. We advise parents that food is one of the least important aspects of the party, most children are to excited to eat much and many parents overcater. Pizza, some crisps or carrot sticks and your cake are probably enough in most cases. If the party is immediately after school, children are usually hungry and will eat more.
Do make sure that you have enough drinks and plenty of water.
Q. How many children can I invite?
A. If you party is being held here at our venue, you may invite 24 guests.
As numbers are restricted we strongly advise you to ask parents to drop children off and not stay if possible. Apart from limiting the children's space, parents are often very noisy and chatter throughout the party - completely spoiling it for the birthday child and their guests. Of course, the birthday childs parents will usually stay for the party.
If the party is at your own venue, we work on a ratio of 25 - 30 children per entertainer. If you are expecting any more than 30 children you will need two entertainers and you may also want to consider a face painter too.
Q. Are there costumes for the children to wear?
A. Yes, if you are coming to our venue we have fairy dresses for the children to use whilst they are here, although some of them are sure to have their own favourite outfits. If your party is at your own venue we may be able to hire out a few dresses by special arrangement.
Q. How do I book/pay?
A. Bookings can be made in person or by telephone through our Hampstead shop
0207 431 1888. Please make sure that you book as early as possible if you plan to have your party just before or just after school holidays as these tend to be our busiest times.
We require a deposit of half of the total cost (inc. VAT) of your party to confirm a booking. Deposits can be made with cash (for parties at our venue only), credit card or cheque. If you are paying by cheque we require a deposit cheque for immediate clearance and a postdated cheque for the balance - dated for the day of your party. Please write your guarantee number on the back of both cheques. We require cash and credit card balances to be paid on the day of the party. Deposits are retained if you cancel less than 28 days before your booking.
